May Peace Abound

After eighteen years of denial, at age twenty-seven, I found the strength to completely come out to my entire family. I was once hiding in the shadows of embarrassment, but now my spirit is finally free. I feel like I'm complete when I’m around them now. I am proud of my sexuality and I have no fear of judgment, like I used to before. My family is still Mormon, but with a more profound understanding of humanity and its unique traits. It has been a slow and agonizing process, yet I have survived the journey. Today, I am here to help the world become a kinder and more thoughtful place toward all LGBTQ people alike. The ability to be loved unconditionally for who we are is something deserving of everyone. That way we may be able to pass this love on to others. And one day, when the right person appears, we will be better equipped to maintain a long-term, loving, and committed relationship.
